Extensive Home Renovation
This renovation involved significant changes to the layout of a large, multi-level home. Extensive demolition and wall reconfiguration reshaped the internal spaces, including new kitchens, bathrooms and internal stairs.
The steep, irregular block added complexity to planning and site coordination. We carefully sequenced the trades and coordinated services around the site’s levels and access, while working with an engineer on the structural changes.
The renovation also brought the altered areas up to current building code requirements. It was a project that called for detailed planning across the home and the site, from the early structural work through to the finished spaces.

Steep-site Home
Building on this extremely steep block called for a design that worked with the natural fall of the land. The home was elevated to suit the site, helping keep earthworks to a minimum.
Careful planning was needed throughout the build, from organising site access and deliveries to coordinating trades and construction sequencing. With the house set above the slope, each stage had to be considered in relation to the structure and the work around it.
The finished home follows the shape of the block, with living areas opening onto a covered deck that looks out to the surrounding bush. The project is an example of how good planning and coordination can make a complex site build run smoothly.

Extending beneath an existing home
We built this home several years ago with the structure planned to allow for a future level underneath. We recently returned to complete that stage, creating new space below the existing house.
The work began with extensive earthworks beneath the elevated home. Restricted access and working space meant we had to carefully plan machinery, spoil removal, and trade access. We coordinated engineering, retaining walls and structural support as the excavation progressed, alongside redesigning the onsite sewage system.
We cut a new opening through the existing floor and installed a stairwell to connect the original home with the new downstairs area. The project also included a new swimming pool, with construction sequencing planned around the house, excavation and site services.

Mermaid Waters - Knockdown rebuild
Design: RW Creative Designs
This knockdown rebuild involved replacing the existing home with a new single-level residence. The sandy ground conditions required an engineered approach, and the pool had to be built before construction of the house could begin. Careful planning and sequencing were essential to coordinate the two stages of work.
The home brings the kitchen, dining and living spaces together, with wide sliding doors opening to the covered alfresco area and pool. Timber-look flooring, warm timber cabinetry and a stone feature wall carry a consistent palette through the interior, with the alfresco ceiling and feature entry extending those materials outside.
The build also includes a home office, contemporary bathrooms and a main bedroom with direct access to the pool area.

New Home - Mudgeeraba
This new-home build was a pleasure to create - it became the ultimate dream home and one of absolute luxury and quality.
The sloping block and rocky terrain made the end result of building this home even more humbling. Future extensions were accommodated for when the site was cut and earthworks complete.
